Meet Kieran Sullivan: Priorities and Insights as Constellia’s Managing Director
Constellia proudly introduces Kieran Sullivan as our Managing Director. With over 30 years of expertise in procurement delivery and commercial transformation across public and private sectors, Kieran plays a pivotal role to drive culture, systems, and processes to future-proof Constellia’s growth.
In an exclusive interview, we sat down with Kieran to delve into his vision, priorities, and insights – here is what he shared:
Q: What do you do as Managing Director?
A: “As Managing Director, my primary role is to oversee and guide the strategic direction of Constellia. This involves working closely with our leadership team to ensure that we are meeting our business objectives, fostering a positive company culture, and continuously innovating to provide exceptional value to our clients. I am also deeply involved in building our organisational capabilities and ensuring that we have the right infrastructure in place to support our growth.”

Q: What gets you out of bed every day?
A: “What drives me each morning is the opportunity to make Constellia the best it can be. I am passionate about building on our existing successes and striving for continuous improvement. Knowing that our work has a significant impact on the public purse and contributes to driving social value is incredibly motivating. I am dedicated to ensuring that we not only deliver but also delight our customers, creating sustainable value for them and their communities.”
Q: What are your top three priorities for first year as managing director?
Q: How do you plan to drive and nurture a positive company culture at Constellia?
A: To drive and nurture a positive company culture, it’s essential to foster open communication, recognise and celebrate achievements, and provide opportunities for professional growth. We aim to create an environment where every team member feels valued and empowered to contribute their best work. Encouraging collaboration and innovation at all levels is crucial for maintaining a vibrant and inclusive culture.”
Q: How do you balance the need for structure with the flexibility required for innovation?
A: “My role is to enable the founders and the team to have the time and capacity to explore where innovation can drive efficiencies or create new solutions. We encourage everyone to come forward with ideas, regardless of their position, and ensure they have the resources and support to develop these concepts. It’s about maintaining a structured environment that still allows for creative thinking and agile responses to market demands.”
Q: What inspired you to join Constellia, and what excites you the most about this new role?
A: “The accelerated growth and innovative solutions Constellia brings to the market were major attractions for me. The company’s customer-focused approach and the high calibre of its team were also significant factors. I’m excited to be part of a business that continuously seeks to understand and address customer challenges, delivering exceptional value. Seeing the rapid rise and growing awareness of Constellia, along with the team’s passion for making a difference to our customers and their communities through social value, is incredibly motivating.”
A: “In my previous role at Capita, I led a significant transformation project that involved restructuring our procurement processes. This experience taught me the importance of adaptability, stakeholder engagement, and the continuous pursuit of efficiency. It also reinforced my belief in the value of empowering team members to take ownership of their projects and innovate within their roles.”

A Talent for Helping Others
Kieran is passionate about mentoring and developing talent within the company. He believes in the power of coaching and spends a significant amount of time working with team members to help them achieve their professional goals. “Empowering others to succeed not only benefits the individual but also strengthens the entire organisation – power is gained by sharing knowledge, not hoarding it” he says.
Beyond the Office
Outside of work, you’ll often find Kieran on the golf course perfecting his swing or off on adventures with his family. “It’s all about finding that harmony,” he remarks, “because with the ever-evolving changes in how we work, it’s more important than ever to ensure we have that balance between home life and work. A balanced life outside of work inspires breakthroughs inside of it.”
