‘The New Procurement Regime: Innovation, Implementation and Impact’ Roundtable Briefing
Constellia’s CEO, Rob Levene, was delighted to join a recent roundtable organised by Re:State, focused on the Government’s new procurement regime.
With the Procurement Act now in effect, which aims to deliver the most comprehensive overhaul of public procurement rules in decades, there is a clear drive at the heart of Government to improve its procurement operations across the country.
Combined with the new National Procurement Policy Statement, and with further consultations around procurement reform planned, this regime aims to create a more transparent, flexible, and accessible system for the more than £300 billion spent annually by the public sector.
Rob commented:
“Constellia supports reform which would address long-standing problems in UK procurement, and is ready to collaborate with the Government to deliver faster procurement processes, better value for money, and wider access to innovative British SMEs.
It is clear from the recent strategies announced by the Government – such as the Infrastructure Strategy, Industrial Strategy and NHS ten-year plan – that there is a considerable amount it wants to achieve. Constellia believe procurement has a vital role to play in this, and reforms will only be successful with a collaborative approach.”
Constellia’s neutral vendor model offers a route to market for innovative technologies and services through our network of over 3,000 suppliers. Most of these suppliers are British SMEs, which can drive innovation across Government and fuel economic renewal in communities across the UK.
Rob continues to comment:
“I’d like to thank Re:State, who are one of the leading and most influential policy think tanks focused on delivering cost-effective reforms to Britain’s public services, for hosting this discussion.”
